Modern Barber and Shave will NOT be requiring masks or face coverings of any kind going forward. We will never ask for your personal medical information in ANY capacity and ask that you pay our staff the same courtesy. 

Please be patient with us as we have very limited staff and cannot do two or three things at once. For this same reason, we are not picking up the shop line at this time, but you may text 860-924-2992 or email modernbarbering@gmail.com to reach out with booking issues/questions, to reschedule/cancel your appointment or will any general questions or concerns.

When booking you will have two options 'Reserve' and 'Reserve & Pay.' Both will require you to record your credit card information in the case that you do not show up for your appointment. If you select Reserve you may choose any payment method in-store and if you select Reserve & Pay your card will be charged approximately one hour prior to your appointment.

We require 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a booked appointment barring an emergency. You will be charged automatically 10 minutes after your appointment time if you do not show up or notify us of the reason you are missing the appointment. 

Active duty military, law enforcement, first responders use promo code RESPOND to receive 10% off your service when you pre-pay. First-time clients use promo code LOYALTY for 15% off your service when you pre-pay (our returning customers are free to use this as well, code will work once per profile.)

Cancelation Policy: 

When you go to book, the system will ask you for a credit card number. From there you may choose to pay online or simply reserve. If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours or less or simply do not show up, your card will be charged. If you selected Reserve only, you have not paid. Upon completion of service, you may choose between paying contactless on the app, cash or credit card (tap, applepay etc.) 

 

Notify us ASAP if there is a serious reason why you cannot make your appointment and we will work with you. If you are more than 10 minutes late we will not have the time necessary to complete your appointment and be on time for our next customer. Please be courteous when booking and coming in for your service.

Cat Thibodeau - owner/operator 

 

Cat has over a decade's worth of experience in the business and is certified in both the Barbicide disinfection program and Bloodborne Pathogens. She cut her teeth on military base barbershops and presently sits on the Cosmetology advisory board for Westerly High School. Currently holding a license in Barbering and Hairdressing/Cosmetology, Cat's training is extensive and she is honored to extend that knowledge to making our customers here at Modern feel comfortable. If there are any further accommodations she can make for you, don't hesitate to ask.

Katie - junior barber

She is now in the homestretch of her apprenticeship and rocking out haircuts and shaves like an old hat. Call on Katie for any style new or old and she'll be sure to hook you up. Head shaves and razor fades are her absolute favorites. Give her a shot and you won't be disappointed!

Marshall - apprentice barber

Our owner's baby brother Marshall is learning the trade one buzz at a time! Please reach out or tell us next time you're in if you would be willing to be a guinea pig for his education. Haircuts will be discounted and Cat will look over all of his work to ensure your satisfaction before you leave. He's now available for online booking below!

Hodgkins - loyal mascot

 

Hodgkins is a barbershop veteran and he will be the first to greet you during your visit to the store. Don't be offended if he doesn't wave as his hand fell off some time ago, but don't let his frozen expression fool you: he's happy you're here! He keeps his eye sockets peeled for any troublemakers so be on your best behavior both inside and out and read our helpful signs throughout the shop.
